2018.

Happy 2018 everyone! I hope you all had a great time celebrating with family and friends. 

Do you have any New Year’s resolutions? Do you think they are helpful? I think that every day is a good day to try something new or make positive changes in your life. 

On the 1st of January I sat down with pen and paper writing a whole list of resolutions for the year ahead. Then I realised it’s more of a “to do list” really! By the way, I can’t live without “to do lists”. I make one every morning or even the night before for the day that lies ahead.

So after reading through my list I also realised that what all of it comes down to are the following 2 things:  

  1. I would like to be a better mother to Madelein. This can mean so many things! But mainly I want to be more present. By organising my day even better so that when I spend time with Madelein my phone or laptop is nowhere near. I know that it will be tricky some days, but I have to set up boundaries by sometimes saying NO (something I never do). 
  2. I want to invest more time in getting to know God on a deeper level. The scripture Matt 6:33 has been in the back of my mind for a while now and I keep coming back to it. I will keep you posted as this journey unfolds.

Sure there are other things I want to work too. Like being more healthy and keeping my blood sugar levels even more under control (I am a Type 1 diabetic). And we are praying for another baby. But actually as I’m typing this I’m realising that if I just focus on Nr 2 then all of the other things will be added.
